My friend Todd has started a blog and already we are arguing.

You know what I am talking about.  The poncho sweater things that women are wearing now a days.  I can't stand them.  I think they look ridiculous.  I mean, what are you going to do in that thing?  It really isn't a coat.  So I don't buy the "replaces a jacket" argument. Personally, I don't think it looks nice enough to wear on any real date, and you can't wear it out clubbing.  Maybe bowling?  Well, no not really because you have to throw a ball and the poncho might get in the way.  Ponchos really are meant to be blankets you wear so you can take a siesta.  I haven't seen any person sleeping in one of these urban ponchos ever, and they are so little that they couldn't even be used for that.

I have to start disagreeing with Todd now.  I love those things.  I think they give a nice elegence to a simple outfit.  It is just another way of adding some color and style.  However, I will conceed that it probably would not look good on Todd.  Then again, I believe in the scientific method and we really should perform the experiment before drawing concluions.

There was, however, a big upside to his post.

For those of you who are Poe fans but haven't gotten a fix recently, you must check out conjure one.  She is only on one track of their album, but it is one of her best tracks ever.  The rest of the album is incredible also.  There are samples on the site, and I would highly recommend listening.

I am overjoyed that Microsoft has finally launched a blogging site.  We have lagged too far behind in this area, and I am thrilled we are finally in it.

I have an existing blog, http://blogs.msdn.com/nhorton, that I will continue using for technical discussions.  This blog will tend towards the personal and political.
